There are at least four laws that need to be followed in order for you to have a good diet. Which are:
1. Quantity Law
2. Quality Law
3. Balance Law
4. Suitability Law
1. Quantity Law
Enough quantity of food is needed for our body to perform at its best. The food that is eaten must be able to provide energy and all the nutrients needed for growth and maintaining the tissue and the organs in our body.
A diet must be sufficient to suppy food in:
-Growth
-Reproduction
-Occupation
-Mental Activities
-Maintaining proper body weight among adults

2. Quality Law
A good diet must contain these elements:
-Carbohydrates
-Lipids (fats)
-Protein
-Vitamins
-Minerals
-Water
-Fibres
Enough said.
3. Balance Law
This is the general law for every aspects of live, as truth as the saying goes " too much of every good thing is bad enough". Therefore, a right proportion of food should be taken and the utmost important are Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats.
Carbohydrate:
Must provide between 55% to 75% of the overall calories. For example if the calorie intake is 2000 then carbohydrate must contribute to 1100 to 1500 calories. Which further suggests that the daily intake of Carbs should be between 275 grams to 375 grams per day.
Fats:
Must not exceed 30% from the overall calories consumed. The greater proportion of fats must come from plant source. Maximum 66 gram fats daily must be supplied for a typical 2000 calorie of diet.
Protein:
Must provide between 10% to 15% of the calories needed. Which means that for a 200 calories diet, 200 to 300 calories must be in the form of protein, approximately 50 to 75 grams daily.
4. Suitability Law
Choices, Preparation and Quantity of food must be suitable according to the body weight, age, physical condition of an individu, the occupation and activity of a person must also be counted when considering the suitable diet for the person.
